By the Cumberland's Fertile Shore

"In the land of golden sunshine, by the Cumberland's fertile shore..."  Any graduate of Tennessee State University knows the words to this song because it is sung at every TSU event from the minute you walk onto campus.  I bleed blue.  I am a TSU Tiger through and through.  Every homecoming you can catch me at the game reminiscing with friends.  I love TSU!

So you can only imagine the joy that I felt when Sandra Long Weaver asked me to come and speak to the staff of The Meter, the university's student newspaper.  Now, this wouldn't be the first time that I stood before a HBCU class, but this was the first time that I had the opportunity to address the newspaper team.  What I found was that the staff was a plethora of #BlackGirlMagic.  Bright, amazing, wonderfully inquisitive... these young ladies were a pleasure to behold.

And guess what?  They wrote an article about me.  ME!  Little 'ole me.  Take a look at it and tell me what you think?  I hope I make Dr. Hefner proud and continue to embody the school's motto of "Think, Work, Serve."
